Food was very good. Since I cannot eat any gluten. I just ate the porridge with vegetables and eggs. It was very good compared to other restaurants were all I could eat was rice and vegetables.
MoreThe peking duck is the best I've had in the USA, except for that the pancakes come with the duck are too thick and dry, and there are only 5 of them. And the owner refuses to give us more pancakes?! How odd?!The rest dishes are just OK and not worth visiting. It's decorated well, better than average Chinese restaurant.very average service, reasonable price.Bottom Line:best peking duck and nothing more.
MoreWent to this place along with my colleagues. They have elaborate menu, service is nice, pretty good indoor seating (good for casual office meetings). Food is delicious, cost is decent.
MoreLots of choices great food
The food was great. One of the great Chinese places I've been to. We tried couple of dishes but my favorite was the orange chicken. Delicious. The fried Tofus is also awesome. Go for Chongqing Style Hot & Spicy Crispy Fish Fillet! Love it!
MoreA large menu, clean restaurant, and nice looking. But my native southern chinese wife says the food was horrible. She thought frozen and reheated...suggested I would have been better off bringing her Panda Express. Which I hate. Not just for the false advertising, but because I'm not a fan of stirfried noodles. The pot stickers, egg rolls, and onion pancakes where fine if cheaply made. The net result, over priced and under performed. I could have order all the wrong things, so I'm not confident of my assessment. Try Cooking Papa.
MoreGreat food, but the place is a bit too cold (both temperature and ambience) for my taste.
MoreWe've been here several times for both lunch and dinner. Service has always been fast and friendly. We usually get a half Peking Duck plus a couple of veggie dishes. The duck skin is crispy, how I like it. The duck meat is juicy and flavorful. Veggies are a little expensive, but they give you large portions that are well prepared and presented. The restaurant is in the back of the plaza and not visible from the street, but definitely worth seeking out.
MoreRecommend their beef noodle and fried rice. Duck is a must-try and also good for a potluck dish.
MoreExceptional and delicious food, I loved the vibes this spot has, and the workers were super friendly. I will surely come back.
More3-star for unsatisfying taste and amount.
Nothing like the Peking duck in China, but OK for Peking Duck in the US.
We have been eating here for nearly a decade. The original place was over on El Camino -- a better location. Back when I started graduate school we visited this restaurant as a group and solidified ourselves as a cohesive group. The food is excellent, it always has been. They are tolerant of kids. When they moved the restaurant took on a better funded feel. I don't know if the old wait staff stayed after the move.Something interesting. A Chinese friend pointed out. Recent Chinese eat at the Lotus. Old California Chinese eat at the Peking. The Restaurant has two names.
MoreThe food has always been really good. The prices are a little bit higher than the usual Chinese restaurants. We have not dined in as we've always done take out. The owners are very appreciative and thankful every time we've gone there. That place has been my go-to Chinese every time we crave it.
MoreFabulous food, and great Peking duck. I've been visiting this restaurant on and off for over a decade now, even when they were located in El Camino. They have managed to keep the quality of food consistent throughout this time. They lose a star from me due to slow staff and optimal management. Slow food, slow service. But definitely will return.
MoreGreat dinner place for Peking duck!
Excellent service and food
Had been here 2 times. and always good memory
The portion of duck slices is so pathetic that I can't believe the picture is a half duck portion. The taste is also not so authentic.
MoreOne of my 3 year olds favorite places. It's usually quiet and we have never had to wait without a booking. Duck is only okay IMO, but pretty good value. Spicy beef slices are really good. Not a budget place though.
MoreAuthentic good
Peking duck was first class. Service a little slow. Eggplant and green beans also excellent.
Morethe worst szhcuan restaurant I have ever had. you can see the chicken still has fur, and the cups looks doesn't wash at all. the ma la chicken tasted bad... I do recommend this place!!!
MoreBetter than average. On the authentic side.
Very flavorful, hot, spicy & fresh yummy.
delicious,i think it is real original Chinese food👍,my friend buy the ticket so that i am not sure the price is also good or not
MoreGood traditional Chinese food, average time for take out. Better Dim Sum than dinner meals.
MoreI have visited multiple times and loved the food each time, especially the duck! It was never busy whenever I went for dinner, maybe because it is relatively pricey. But the service is excellent and food is excellent, so I would highly recommend it.
MoreFood is great. Kind of dark outside at night, difficult to find the restaurant entrance.
MoreCheck for my photos in the images, no way I would post this wasn't legit. Mandatory 50 dollars for delivery. the duck I ordered look like it came out of the sewer, had a rotten smell and was cold to the touch. The cod fish was deep fried whit little or no batter, and covered in an abomination that couldn't pass for a (sweet and sour) anymore than could a turd. I threw the hole thing out! The BIGGEST waste of 72 dollars in my life! The only reason give this place a rated at all, is to warn you'll. Eat to this place, you're liable to get foot and mouth disease.
MoreFood is a 6 out of 10. I won’t order Peking duck here again for sure. There’re better options in this area
MoreDO NOT order take-out from this restaurant. Placed an order with Doordash and went to the store to pick up when the app said it was ready. No one was at the front door and I had to wait 10 minutes before someone appeared from the kitchen area. I asked the lady about my order and she simply stated "Not done yet" and walked back into the kitchen. Waited another 5 minutes before shouting back to the kitchen area and she re-appeared screaming "still not done yet!"....what kind of service is that? After that she disappeared back into the kitchen and would not respond. Never got my food and cancelled with Doordash. BEWARE OF THIS RESTAURANT.
MoreThey include a tip of 18% without telling the customer. I was not able to overturn this tip, even though I expressed how dishonest and sneaky this is to the waitress.
MorePeking duck was not so bad, and the service was good. And the duck wasn’t that expensive for a whole duck.
MoreGood food. Service can get better.
Oh my goodness! I was just asking friends at work the other day if there were any authentic duck resturaunts in the area and didn't get many suggestions beyond some place in Berkeley. I accidentally found this place today in my own backyard here in Palo Alto. I have eaten duck many times in Beijing and Taiwan and this place made me feel both in atmosphere and cuisine that I was back there. The staff was great, the food was authentic and beyond delicious. I will be back regularly. Right off Caltrain at California Ave. A must if you are a Peking Duck fan!
MoreFood is fantastic and the staff is friendly. Unfortunately, then tend to get large groups of tour busses that come in at lunch that slow down service. Highly recommend the Peking duck and orange chicken.
MoreI love this wonderful packing duck .so delicious!!!!!
Had a team lunch here. Was excellent.
It used to be my favorite roasted duck place in the Bay Area until today. You thought ordered the whole duck but they only give you half. Other dishes also comes with ridiculously tiny portions....I decide never go there again.
MoreSaw many bad reviews about this restaurant, but we had excellent time there. Foods were very delicious and fast service 👍👍
MoreWas there with a big group from China. Though too busy to snap pictures to share here, I remember happy conversations over great dishes and heard no complaints from the diners who I know to be picky and straightforward food critics.
MoreThe food was delicious. There is complementary green tea, which was nice(and acted as a good way to pass the time, because the service was a bit slow). The duck with peking sauce was very delicious. We also had a fried fish dish, which was too big for us to finish. Overall, good experience.
MoreSúper fancy, however sometimes orders take much time
Amazing Peking roast duck! Everything we had was great. Sauteed pea sprouts were the highlight (besides the duck)
MoreTasty ducks! Nice environment and reasonable price.
Great food, relaxed ambiance
We ordered duck. They came with the whole bird and looked huge. They took it away to slice it and came back with a bit of duck. Can't tell for sure but it's hard to believe that was the same thing.
MoreThe food was good. My kids actually ate everything. We had a group of 8 so we ordered lots and I have never done this before but we were so hungry we ate the food before I could take pics. 🤦🏻♀️ The favorite dish that everyone loved was the sweet and sour chicken and the chow mein noodles. We ordered General Tso chicken, a stir fry beef, won ton soup( the kids also loved this), pot stickers, steamed dumplings. My children are ages 7 to 15 and we had 4 adults. Some dishes we got 2 of. It was a bit pricey but then again we were in Palo Alto so I am not quite familiar with prices. The bathrooms were a little sketchy. The men said the men’s was really bad with poor lighting. The service was great. The amount of food wasn’t much like other Chinese places. I don’t know if we would go back. I think I would try another place before going back. 🤷🏻♀️
